The BCS Prize were established in 1960 on the initiative of Mr. TouemonTakenaka, the first director of the Building Contractors Association (BCS), based on the idea that “Creation of an excellent building requires mutual understanding and corporation among the client, the architect, and the builder, excursion technique to realize design being essential”. The prize has been awarded to superior domestic buildings, ever since annually, to create building assets and to contribute to the development of culture and global environmental protection.
In 2011, when the BCS was merged with the Japan Federation of Construction Contractors (JFCC), JFCC took over the prize.
The CTBUH 10 Year Award recognizes proven value and performance of tall building projects over a period of time. This award gives an opportunity to reflect back on tall buildings that have been completed and operational for a decade, and acknowledge those projects that have performed successfully long after the ribbon-cutting ceremonies have passed. Devon Energy Center was recognized for this achievement in 2022.

The AIA Connecticut Design Awards recognize design excellence of built and unbuilt work in Connecticut or in other locations by Connecticut-based firms.
