Kristin Hawkins AIA joins Pickard Chilton as Associate Principal
Experienced Design Professional Will Expand Studio’s Expertise in the Academic and Cultural Arts Sector
(New Haven, Conn.– February 19, 2025) – Pickard Chilton, an award-winning architecture studio best known for its innovative and cutting-edge design of corporate headquarters and campuses, announces that Kristin Hawkins AIA has joined as Associate Principal.
Ms. Hawkins brings more than 30 years of global design expertise across a diverse portfolio. Her philosophy centers in the power of place; that transformative, responsible architecture is both a poetic and pragmatic response to cultural and physical context. Prior to joining Pickard Chilton, Ms. Hawkins was a Partner at Pelli Clarke & Partners, where she led major projects in the academic, master planning, corporate office and cultural arts sectors.

Ms. Hawkins’ recent work includes the multi-award-winning Chengdu Museum of Natural History in Chengdu, China; West Palm Point, a 470,000 GSF class A office tower in West Palm Beach, Florida; and a confidential next-generation condominium tower in midtown Manhattan. She also led the design of the Red Building at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood, CA; the Center for Innovation in Medical Professions at Cleveland State University; and Future VU, the master plan for Vanderbilt University.

Ms. Hawkins holds Master of Architecture from Yale University and a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from The University of Virginia School of Architecture. A dedicated educator, she is a long-standing and current faculty member at the Yale School of Architecture and has lectured and served as a juror for institutions and organizations nationally.

Pickard Chilton’s growth has continued even throughout the pandemic, taking on a range of innovative projects. The firmrecentlycompleted4.4 million GSF of new mixed-use/office space across the U.S. and is currently working on over 5 million GSF and nearly $2 billion of new projects in the past year, including200 Mission and thePG&E Campus redevelopment in San Francisco, the CoStar Campus in Richmond, and a diversity of mass timber and life sciences developments. The elevation of 29 of its design professionals and staff is a testament to the firm’s ongoing success and evolution, particularly as Pickard Chilton celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Pickard Chilton has been selected by McCaffery, Hines and Ivanhoé Cambridge to design T3 RiNo, a new Class-A, mixed-use office project in Denver, Colorado’s RiNo (River North) neighborhood.
Pickard Chilton announces that three of its architects – Senior Associate Michael Hensley AIA, RIBA, LEED AP, BD+C, WELL AP and Associates Adrienne Nelson AIA, LEED Green Associate and Stephen Harris AIA – have been invited to join the AIA (American Institute of Architects) Leadership Academy for its 2020-2022 inaugural class.
